This is Mike Blowers from the city public works department with an important announcement about road construction. Beginning on Monday, road crews will be resurfacing main street. For the next month, at least one lane of traffic will be closed between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. There will be orange signs diverting traffic to detour routes along Second Avenue and Waterfront Road. Businesses on Main Street will remain open during the road work, and police officers will be directing traffic. If you need to use Main Street during this time, expect delays and remember that traffic violations in work zones carry a penalty of double the maximum fine. Thank you for your patience and understanding. The main street resurfacing project is one of six road improvement projects the city will undertake this year.
